Akin is one of the most conservative members of Congress, more socially conservative than Romney and more fiscally conservative than even Ryan.

He's also a dumbass - who up until about 4 days ago believed in some crackpot theory relative to rape and abortion.

There are plenty of common sense conservatives who can effectively articulate all three stools of the conservative platform, e.g. Rubio, Ryan, Cruz, Walker, etc.

Nothing dumb about him at all. He votes smarter than 90% of the Congress. Medical professionals had advanced that theory in credible research. Pregnancy by rape is rare and not what the vast amount of abortions are for.
