How weird. Why does he need a press conference to say he’s staying in the race?

Akin isn't calling the press conference. It's his EGO that's calling it.

No, he didn’t drop out. He’s holding a press conf to announce he’s STAYING IN.

The man has pride without limit.

We were JUST starting to change the damned subject.

Crackpots are but a fraction of the party and movement. The party and movement itself is very socially conservative but the U.S. as a whole is not. The party and movement do what they can in dealing with this fact.

Palin helped McCain get more votes than he would have otherwise. He lost because of the economic collapse, ads associating him with Bush, and racist voter preferences for Obama.

Hell, you can even illegally claim American Indian racial preference benefits you don’t deserve as Democrat, and the enemy Mainstream Media WILL STILL defend you.

When are you going to realize we can't and don't win campaigns through the mainstream media, we win by going around them? Throw as many sacrificial lambs to the liberals that you want, they'll only try to cut your throat even deeper next time. A strategy based on trying to pacify the Democrats and the media is a losing strategy.

Actually , it can be done. Both have to resign using the court procedure. Then the Missouri Republican Committee have to replace the two candidates with whomever they want, in this case the candidates would swap. It would have to be pre-arranged of course. It would give Akin something to live for.

I’m going to bet it’s #2....his campaign made a mistake. It wouldn’t be their first one.

I am quickly beginning to have sympathy for those who have threatened him if he is holding yet another conference to say he is staying in the race. I would spit in his face if I saw him in person....

No kidding!!!

Not here at Free Republic but at least nationally they were starting to look at other things a bit.

Now he goes and announces a presser to say he’s staying in?

He’s the new leader of the dead enders!

Link to the credible research that supports Akin’s comment about the ability to ‘shut that whole thing down’?

All I have seen is one Dr. who was (is?) the head of the National Right to Life - and he cited no research - credible or otherwise - just his own opinion.

Where is the credible research about a woman's ability to ‘shut that whole thing down’?

And when Akin gets crushed by Claire in November and costs us the senate we’ll all thank YOU and the rest of the short-sighted and myopic socons who would rather back a losing horse martyr than get behind someone who’s a guaranteed win.

There is no substitute for victory.

NONE WHATSOEVER.....so take your “purism” and your sanctimonious prattling about “principles” with you to defeat.

Social conservatives are but a FRACTION of the party and movement.

I’m sure Mitt’s pollsters have already found a way to win without ‘em.

I'd say the vast majority of the movement is sympathetic to social conservatism and a little under half have it as their driving factor. Romney can't win without their votes, that's for sure.

The hill.com is saying that Akin is dropping out and the Republican party has agreed to pay to go court and get him replaced on the ballot.
*****************************************************************
Thehill.com is saying the exact opposite.

Post a link if you want to advance what you’re saying.
