He’s out I’d say.
Please dear God drop out!!!!!!
Nah . . . he’ll probably call for Romney to drop out now.
So, will it be 5;15 MIsery time, or 5;15 Establishment stand-in time?
If he has an ounce of brain matter and wants a future in politics he will bow out gracefully for the good of the party and the common cause.
He should have done this a long time ago. I wonder if his political career can be salvaged at this point?
I read elsewhere that he is holding it to reiterate that he’s staying in.
If that’s the case then he officially hit attention whore status.
Screw the party - bunch of elitist RINOs!. I’m more concerned about the good of the country!
If it can’t be salvaged, it’s his own fault. If he had just done the right thing immediately and stepped down, between the gratitude of the party and the fact that people have relatively short memories, he’d be okay for some other position in a couple of years.
But he’s a six-term congressman, so in my opinion, he’s already had too long a political career!
bttt
If it said make an announcement, then I would say that he is dropping out. A press conference would mean that he is taking questions. He clearly understands news cycles and I would not take it as a given that press conference means dropping out.
The hill.com is saying that Akin is dropping out and the Republican party has agreed to pay to go court and get him replaced on the ballot.
He will announce he's staying in the Missouri Senate race, multiple news outlets are reporting.
If true - what a self-serving rat bastard!
Could be... I can picture a news conference with Huckabee, Perkins and the rest of the martyrdom faction.
I hope not.
