Stupid thing to say even if he was joking. He’s just given the media more ammunition to use against him.

It WOULD hurt Romney to bring this up more than once. It WOULD hurt him to address it as anything other than a "joke".
But now, the MEDIA will do the job for him, by bringing it up over and over and over....
