Details are emerging about the man who opened fire at the Empire State Building today, killing his former boss. Mayor Michael Bloomberg identified the shooter as 53-year-old Jeffrey Johnson. According to NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, Johnson worked as a women's accessories designer for Hazan Imports Corporation.

But he apparently lost his job a year ago when the company downsized.

The New York Post reported that Hazan stalked his former boss down the street and shot him.

According to a company profile on ZoomInfo, Hazan Imports employs between 50 and 100 people and focuses on budget handbags. It's located at 10 West 33rd street, right near the Empire State Building:

Picture of the dead shooter here. Definitely looks like a homo. Or I guess, an ex-homo now that he’s dead.

Follow up:
Fox just interrupted it's coverage of a Florida car chase that apparently ended with the driver being shot and dragged, very limp and very roughly, from a copse of trees and his rider being (belatedly) dragged from the car and wrestled down.
They cut it off to repeat their summary of the NY shooting.

It used to be called shot placement. Now it just spray and pray. God help us.

I used to commute on the Metro into DC- sometimes you'd see Metro Transit cops with MP5s. I'm thinking "What're you planning to do on a crowded subway platform in an incident- with an MP-5??"

Well, having worked in general area of the Empire State building, I’m aware of the extent of the “rag trade” shops. Couldn’t walk down cross streets without dodging the guys pushing clothing racks on the sidewalks and streets. Most of the businesses are Jewish owned.

While some words in Arabic and Hebrew have the same roots, in that neighborhood it is most likely Jewish.

Thanks, that sure would explain it all right. The spelling in the article (h vs. ch) suggested arabic to me.

...that apparently ended with the driver being shot and dragged, very limp and very roughly,...

I wondered if they shot him, you could see a large blood stained area on his right shoulder when they drug him out of the foliage.

A Glock is difficult to shoot with
a "new york" 12 pound trigger.

Accuracy diminishes with that trigger pull.

Smith & Wesson model 28 is a fine weapon for the police. Big, N frame. Powerful, .357 mag. Beats the hell out of a 9mm and in my opinion better than a .40. But the big thing to me is it only carries 6 rounds.
If it ain’t fancy enough for some all they have to do is get the model 27.

Meanwhile, Mayor Michael Bloomberg has ordered blood tests of the shooter to determine what his blood Pepsi content was at the time of his death. Bloomberg has pledged to use the full force of the law to go after the scum that may have sold this otherwise normal man anything larger than an 8 ounce soda.

According to Bloomberg, it is apparent that this poor mans mother failed to nurse him. Apparently, the dead guys dad and uncles Fred, both democrats, nursed him until he was 18, according to sources close to the investigation.

Developing........

I’ve been shooting for a long time and have never heard of a “new york” trigger pull. 12 pounds?????? both hands and a helper needed.

Also he says that he killed the VP of sales. When would a designer have a VP of sales as a boss? Why would the sales department lay off the designers?

CNN is reporting that the shooter shot the victim in the head. They did not say that the shooter even got off a shot at the police once they confronted him. Doesn’t this lead to the conclusion that ALL not some, of the other people were injured by the police.

“Now I am hearing that some of the people shot were shot by the POLICE! The POLICE? “

How much range time do you think the average NYC cop gets? I’m guessing most Boy Scouts pull the trigger more often than a NYC cop does on the range.

Well, I'll be damned. Since I do not own a Glock, I kinda thought you came up with that on your own. Wow! 12 pounds? I do not think I own anything with that kind of pull. No wonder there is so much collateral damage.

Hard to believe that this tripe got past the two reporters and at least one editor.

The NYTIMES has also undergone some 'downsizing' lately.

Interesting question. I get in excess of 10 hrs a month. WTSHTF, I plan on being prepared. I would hope they get at least half that. But you are probably right about the scouts.
