Most of us, including Akin, agree that his comments about rape were unwise and should never have been said. We simply believe that the normal tactics implemented when a politician makes a gaffe should be allowed to happen in his case. His apology should be accepted and he should be allowed to continue his campaign with full support. Unless someone commits a crime, engages in a serious moral failing like adultery, or diverges from the party’s platform in a major way, the party should not abandon them or kick them when they’re down.

“Most of us, including Akin, agree that his comments about rape were unwise and should never have been said”

I don’t really care about that anymore, I just want McCaskill gone and I don’t think Akin can do it.

I want the state GOP to announce now who they want to replace Akin with, then let check this person out and see if they are a better candidate than Akin.

We need to see what we are buying first before we throw away what we have already bought.

Akin didn’t make a GAFFE, he showed he’s fundamentally ignorant of basic biology!

Using the term “legitimate rape” is a Gaffe.

Suggesting women don’t get pregnant if raped is showing you are completely ignorant of the most basic understanding of your own species reproductive systems.

Akin is a distraction, a lost cause, and going to not only lose this Senate seat now, but will cause other close races for his part to be lost. This guy is now a black sheep, and a political nobody.. He’s effectively ended any chance of EVER having a future in politics again. Had he stepped aside, laid low, next cycle or two could have come back, but this cycle, hes a dead man walking, and he’s basically a walking friendly fire incident.

Sorry when you show you don’t understand the most basic reproductive functions of your own species, you are an idiot, and no, the party shouldn’t be wasting money or time trying to help a lost cause win.

This guy has ZERO chance of winning now, he won’t see 40% of the vote if he continues, regardless of what the RNC does or doesn’t do to him. THe more the RNC is tied to this fool, the worse it is for all Republicans.

This idiot just took a sure win and lost it, not only that, his actions are going to cost other republicans in close races as well.

What he did was basically equivalent to declaring the moon is made of green cheese.

If he had just used the term “legitimate rape”, that would be a Gaffe, and he probably could overcome it.. but what he said after that, showed he an ignorant fool who doesn’t know jack about basic reproduction and should not be anywhere near any lawmaking body.

His decision to stick around just further shows how utterly ignorant this guy is. He’s a dead man walking, RNC shouldn’t waste 1 iota of money or support on him. There is no reason to burn money for a fools ego.
