Again, for any system of jurisprudence, the evidence is what matters - not the motivation.

I trust my own judgment on the evidence, not on the apparent or presumptive motive of the parties involved.

And we all should know about the word assume... LOL

It is certainly appropriate to make an assumption based on events that are ongoing and that have preceded. This is not a court of law.

The most likely reason he quit fighting (and you know this)is that he knows he is guilty and would be shown even more so that he is guilty. You know that that is the most likely scenario.
