By Todd Starnes Former U.S. Sen. Bob Bennett said Mitt Romney once compared the Tea Party to a ferret
Bennett was a three-term senator from Utah who was ousted at the state’s GOP convention by conservatives.
The Time story recounts a conversation between Bennett said Romney shortly after his ouster.
He said Romney related what he believed to be an apocryphal story about getting bitten by a ferret he had tried to rescue from a dishwasher.
“Mitt said the Tea party people are like that ferret in the dishwasher,” he said in the Time Magazine report. “They’re so frightened and angry, they’ll even bite Bob Bennett, who’s trying to get the country out of this mess.”
The story was adapted from “The New New Deal,” a book written by Michael Grunwald.
Bennett’s office did not respond to calls seeking comment.
Romney campaign spokesperson Andrea Saul did not confirm or deny Romney made the comments.

I have no reason to not believe Mr. Bennett. After all most if not all of the GOP-E dislike conservatives in general and Tea Party members in particular. No surprise here.
They hate the truth don't they? Don't you know your suppose to hold your nose and vote for the liberal, close your eyes and pretend he's not for abortion and gay adoption/marriage, pretend you can't hear romney’s lies.....just get in line and obey the gop or the romney lovers will intimidate you. You know the gop & romney campaign sent their henchmen out to the blogisphere to keep people in line. They are to treat those conservatives like liberals treat the right. Mitt does’nt know a ferret from a democrat...one thing he’s on is that he pulled Paul Ryan...he’s kinda like a John McCain...thing is the country has already saw the hope and change BS...Paul Ryan will take the hair over the top!

If Romney thinks Tea Party folks are Ferrets, and he fears Ferrets, that's a good thing. Then again, the whole thing is beyond silly with Lord Obama currently at the helm.
Everything else pales in comparison to giving Obama four more years. We can deal with Romney's RINOness next year.
The ferrets may try but the GOPe won't. And I'm afraid the ABO people, if Romney is elected, will just keep saying, well he's better than Obama, he's the lesser of 2 evils. They'll go along to get along.
Another problem is IF the ferrets Do stand against Romney on issues that provides fodder for the socialist left to sweep back in in 2016.
I was at the Ryan rally in Pittsburgh this week. I like him, support him and think he would make a fine president. On the way in I was speaking with someone and mentioned that I though Ryan would make a great president. hHe responded , no you mean Romeny. I shot back no, I'm thinking ahead.
He didn't get it. The mostly GOP audience wouldn't either. They were there for Romney and were "tolerating" Ryan and the Tea Party ferrets.
As far as I'm concerned the GOPe can take a long walk on a short pier.

And Mark Levin endorsed Orrin Hatch, who is nearly identical. Politics makes strange bedfellows indeed.
He is not comparing the Tea Party to a ferret. There was a story there: he compared the Tea Party to the frightened ferret he tried to rescue from the dishwasher but bit him. The very person trying to help the ferret bit because it is frightened. Romney was just trying to make an old friend feel better about his loss in the primary. Tea partiers are frightened, but not like they don’t know what they are doing by getting rid of RINOs.
Bennett is a RINO extraordinaire, and he is saying what they all say. That we are emotional, not logical, not enlightened enough to appreciate the RINOs. Screw them and Mitt Romney.
The Tea Party are like bitter ferrets, clinging to pots, pans and spatulas in a dishwasher.
It sure seems that way at times.
