Perkin’ group is the organization targetted by the same-sex-marriage-supporting terrorist gunman last week.
It's good he spoke out too. It seems a great divide is taking place in this nation. For life... OR... against it. I haven't yet found one 100% pro-lifer (meaning someone who stands up for the child resulting from rape as well) that's backed Akin's dismissal.

I think you missed my point. BTW, Fred Thompson was a stalking horse for McLame.

For what its worth-the author is also an atheist Palin hater.
Thanks! He must not have very many female fans. Even liberal women don't like their body parts mentioned in "amusing" ways. Well, most don't.

I said it before. I will say it again. This is a full blown 21st century LYNCHING. It is sickening and the mob is winning.
Repost:

“McCaskill spent a million and a half to help Akin win the primary. She wants to run against him.”

Crossroads spent a hefty amount itself, far more than clairebear. She has played reverse psychchology here. He is/was not as weak as how he is being presented here, and it’s nuts.

“He’s proven himself to handle the spotlight very poorly.”

Evidently, he has handled himself in and OUT of the spotlight for lo these many years...and quite well it would seem.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Akin

Missouri House of Representatives
Elections
Akin was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in November 1988, running unopposed to represent District 85 which included Town and Country and much of West County.[3] He won re-election in 1990 (59%),[4] 1992 (100%),[5] 1994 (70%),[6] 1996 (67%),[7] and 1998 (66%).[8]

Tenure
In 12 years in the state house, Akin voted for carrying concealed weapons, voted against the parks and soils sales tax, voted against the 1993 tax increase and education spending increase.[9] Akin sponsored legislation to prohibit casino companies from contributing to Missouri state lawmakers.[10] In 1995, he fought Democrat Governor Mel Carnahan on state-funding for abortion, which Akin opposed.[11]

Committee assignments
He was a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.[12]

U.S. House of RepresentativesAkin is listed in the House roll as “R-St. Louis”. The likely reason is that many areas in the St. Louis County portion of the district, including one of his district offices, have St. Louis addresses, even though the district does not include any part of the city of St. Louis itself.

Elections
In 2000, Republican U.S. Representative Jim Talent vacated the seat in his unsuccessful run for Governor of Missouri. Akin won a closely contested Republican primary election to replace Talent, defeating former St. Louis County Executive Gene McNary and State Senator Franc Flotron.[13] He defeated Democratic State Senator Ted House in the general election, winning 55 percent of the vote.[14] He never faced another contest even that close, and was reelected five times.

In 2010, Akin won re-election with 67.9% of the vote.[15] He had been challenged for the seat by Democratic nominee Arthur Lieber, Libertarian nominee Steve Mosbacher, and write-in candidate Patrick M. Cannon.

Tenure
Todd Akin voted for Paul Ryan’s FY 2012 budget, which would restructure Medicare.[16]

Akin is an outspoken opponent of abortion in all cases, including health reasons or in cases of rape or incest. He opposes embryonic stem cell research, is a supporter of the right to keep and bear arms, and is generally opposed to increases in taxation and spending. As a U.S. Representative, he has continued to support these views, earning a 96% rating from the American Conservative Union in 2008, and 100% in 2007.[17] Akin has an A rating from the National Rifle Association.[18]

Akin is a staunch advocate of a federal prohibition of online poker. In 2006, he co-sponsored H.R. 4411, the Goodlatte-Leach Internet Gambling Prohibition Act,[19] and H.R. 4777, the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act.[20]

Akin has spent significant time working on military and veterans issues. On the House Armed Services Committee he currently serves as the Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, which handles all Navy and Air Force issues. In the past he has served as Ranking Republican on the Seapower Subcommittee and the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. Akin has also introduced a number of veterans-related bills, most notably the Open Burn Pit Registry Act, which creates a registry for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who were exposed to burn pits.

Committee assignments
Committee on Armed Services
Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces
Subcommittee on Seapower and Expeditionary Forces (Chairman)
Committee on the Budget
Committee on Science, Space and Technology
Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics
Subcommittee on Energy and Environment
Caucus memberships
Republican Study Committee
TEA PARTY CAUCUS
*******************************************
You see why they want him gone?

“I believe what we are watching is nothing compared to what McCaskill’s oppo research has compiled. When it’s too late, and all the deadlines are past, I think she will unload years of Akinisms that may be as bad or worse than what he’s currently backpedaling from. And you can bet some will dovetail nicely with the national War on Women.”

And what do you think would happen with ANY staunchly prolife CONSERVATIVE candidate, which Akin obviously IS?

I was so disgusted when I found out he had stashed Presidential campaign money and used it for his Senate seat. Mr. McAmnesty was all about cracking down on illegal immigration as well during the Senate campaign. Wasn’t 2008 fun? How we could not mention the middle name of “THE ONE” without being called racist ? Ah, good times, eh?

“McCaskill spent a million and a half to help Akin win the primary. She wants to run against him.”

I get a kick out of this criticism. And the motivation behind her ads was?

Is Claire McCaskill helping Todd Akin in the GOP primary?

To conservatives, McCaskill's "criticisms" in the Akin commercial sound more like compliments: that he opposes big government and wants to cut the federal departments of energy and education; and that he has been hotly critical of Obama.

At one point, the ad makes an allegation that sounds as if it could be on an Akin bumper sticker: "Todd's pro-family agenda would outlaw many forms of contraception."

The ad closes with the narrator speaking words that are shown on the screen next to Akin: "Missouri's TRUE conservative ..." Only after a pause does the rest of the phrase come up: "...is just TOO conservative."

Akin is a nice guy, good conservative. But, he cannot win this election and it’s his own fault. He opened his mouth and stuck both feet in.

No problem, conservatives in Missouri are a dime a dozen and almost anyone of them can beat McCaskill which is the one thing that Akin cannot do.

He’s just not that important, certainly not more important than the country and it’s fair to say that control of the Senate is a matter of great importance to the country. Ranting on like Akin is the next Barry Goldwater is just silly, before he opened his mouth he was hardly known outside his district.

The unwillingness of Conservatives to do what it takes to beat these despicable Democrats is unbelievable. Do you really enjoy being a loser?

I’m sure that you have been a true Conservative all of your life. Amazing how you are so in synch with Senator McCaskill.

I have already lost and so have you since the elite in the gop e chose romney to be the nominee. No. I don’t like it. Being forced to vote for romney has a definite adverse effect on my psyche...which makes this gop e LYNCHING of Akin a real gut punch.

Well McCaskill doesn't believe that, she supports murdering them morning, noon, and night. And she is going to win if Akin stays in, thanks to you and the other obstinate knuckleheads who can't see beyond their noses.

There are plenty of Right to Life conservatives in Missouri who can win in November, including the candidates endorsed by the major Right to Life organizations (Akin was not). Support for Akin is irrational emotional nonsense.

Mr. Akin did himself in. You need to get beyond that and work to get a solid conservative in place who can beat McCaskill. Akin cannot.

Jumping on the anti-Akin bandwagon is surrendering to fear and political correctness, nothing more.

This is why Democrats are able to win elections, because Republicans are scared to fight.

His record says otherwise.

His record says he’s a solid conservative and always has been.

And you want this man to leave his career and as Crispy Chris Christie said disappear from public life because he spoke some less than artful words about his beliefs?

Overreact much?

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if there’s more than a few people that would be alot happier if he put the barrel of a firearm in his mouth and then discharged it.

Seriously, you guys need to get a grip. If you are this easily manipulated, you are done.

You hear me?

Done.

He is toxic loser who so so selfish and classless he won't gracefully bow out.

He and his greedy family want the power and cash that comes with a senate seat.

This destructive crackpot is no victim or martyr.

I don’t live in Missouri so my opinion really doesn’t matter that much...in Missouri. But I will be damned if I will pile on the way this lynch mob is doing. NO staunchly pro-life conservative would receive any better treatment from either the gop e OR the democrats. The gop e wants a rino moderate who won’t oppose romney in the senate. I don’t. I want a hardcore conservative senate that will set romney’s feet on fire every time he tries to pull a fast one. Isn’t that what we have all been saying since romney destroyed every other conservative in the primaries?
