Pretty much what you said. Things were going fine until this MENSA scholar opened his mouth with something so abjectly stupid that there was no defending it or claiming he misspoke, it was just flat out dumb. The only way to ease up the attacks by the left is for this guy to get out, once he's gone they'll still try their attacks but they won't be nearly as effective, additionally, for the Democrats that are running ads using his comments.....using "Todd Akin-Former Republican Candidate" is a hell of a lot less effective than "Todd Akin, Republican Candidate for Senate

Bottomline, politics is a contact sport, its not rainbows and sunshine, this guy said something that you can't back down from, its over, anyone with any political savvy knew minutes after he had uttered those comments that he was done. The more stubborn he is, the further he'll fall it the polls until getting out is the only possible logical option.

If it wasn’t what Akin said initially that raised suspicion that he wasn’t ready for prime time, what he’s done since then should confirm it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

His behavior gets more bizarre as each day goes by.

It's one thing to say the guy is an idiot and should go, but if what you wrote above is your real motivation... you are incredibly naive. The way to make the Left go nuclear is to have their whining and bitching rewarded. They are petulant children. Treat them that way. Ignore them.

Whether or not Akin stays in the race is between Akin and the GOP. Anyone basing their actions and support off the advocacy or condemnation of the Left has no sense of history or reality.
