Akin belongs in the Dem party, he is more nuts than the Cocoa Puffs bird. And I say this again, why did people vote for this guy, McCaskill was begging people to vote for him..did NO ONE see that as a HUGE warning sign that something wasn’t right

I see Akin as simply a naive guy who has been lucky to some degree in the past in local politics in the state. He’s not witty, charming, or that intelligent. When some unknown PAC came up during the primary and pushed an ad or two at the right time....he never asked who they were or where their money came from. For the amount they tossed into their ads....it didn’t take much to put him into the right position.

As for now? I think the naive of the guy, and those around him.....simply dictate that he continue on. He can’t win, but he’ll get the forty percent level which looks decent.

As for him dropping out and some Tea-Party campaign suddenly erupting? My guess is that if you had forty-five days....you just might be able to pull a write-in vote for some person that independents might drift to. If he waits this out to the last week....then it pretty much destroys the election anyway.

The reason why people vote for this guy is that there is nothing else to vote for. I hear R's repeated whine about there being no qualified people to vote for. Is it any wonder?

Why would a more qualified person run when he/she knows that the minute the wrong thing is said his/her supporters run for the tall brush?

As long a so-called conservatives continue to run from their candidates at the first sign of true combat, you will not have anyone but lesser candidates who want on the gravy-train run.

Is it any wonder, then, that the people in Congress, for the most part, are of such low quality.

Akin belongs in the Dem party

With a 97.5% rating from the American Conservative Union. Meanwhile, I'm sure you're going to tell us that Mitt Romney is going to be the most conservative President since Reagan.

That's right. Anyone who is so pro-life that they think that children conceived in rape should not be summarily executed is a freaking right wing nut job and should never be allowed anywhere near the Senate.

I note that your tone has changed somewhat since you posted this attack on Akins, but your attitude is pervasive on this forum and it does not bode well for the pro-life movement that Freepers are ganging up on a guy who has a better conservative record than Sarah Palin.

Akin has awakened me to the fact that I have not been consistently pro-life. I have wavered on the issue when it comes to victims of rape, but this Akin controversy has awakened my soul to the fact that there is no justification for the taking of an innocent life by abortion. None. The baby is innocent and deserves to live even if the sperm donor deserves to die.
