Who leaked it?

The author effectively leaked all the information, including his own name, himself.

This wasn’t a confidential document published in-house by the Navy or anybody else.

Mr. Bissonnette was dealing with people in the commercial publishing world. Who on earth would even think of honor or confidentiality among that group?

I don’t necessarily blame Bissonette for writing it (I don’t know how sacred the nondisclosure act is considered by the SEALS, or by any who have served in the military, which I have not) and I don’t like his name being out in public for the same reasons as you and other posters.

But I would guess a man as savvy as this SEAL chief recognized the kind of turds he is dealing with and has already made his plans in terms of publicity, exposure and his and his family’s security.

.
Bullshit!

He did no such thing. He had a contract of total secrecy with his publisher, and they would never have revealed anything, lest they never have opportunity again to publish such an important book.

Be thankful he did it.

Most towns in Alaska are small and everyone knows everyone. If a stranger comes strolling in, it’s noticed and watched. So I don’t think the Chief has much to be concerned over. He’s a big man and thinks like one.
