A Navy SEAL is releasing the real story on the Osama Bin Laden raid.
For the first time a member of SEAL Team 6 has written a book setting the record straight on the raid on Osama Bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan. The book was not authorized by the Obama Administration and will give the real story not told by the Obama-media. The book was vetted by a former special operation’s attorney. The majority of the proceeds from the book will go to charities that support families of fallen Navy SEALs. Reuters reported:
The U.S. government was surprised by the news that a Navy SEAL who participated in the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan has written a book about the operation in which the al Qaeda leader was killed, U.S. officials said on Wednesday.
“No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission that Killed Osama Bin Laden” was written by a Navy SEAL under the pseudonym Mark Owen with co-author Kevin Maurer and is to be released next month on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
It was not vetted by government agencies to ensure that no secrets were revealed.

I read a piece over on Jammie Wearing Fools that suggests Valerie Jarrett wanted to hold off on the bin Laden raid until the end of October of 2012, just before the election, to get a bump for Obama. She reportedly was “furious” that Hillary Clinton, Leon Panetta, and Robert Gates went around Obama when they were as certain as possible they could get bin Laden. If this story is true, it is despicable at best, treasonous really, and should be investigated under oath. I personally don’t doubt it is true.
The only National Security secrets he cares about are those that would put his ass in a sling.

Hmmm, I dunno on this one yet. I get the desire to set the record straight, and I have more faith in an actual SEAL to be prudent in what he does (and does not) put into print for the public to see than anyone on Obama’s team (including Obama himself).
Still, I’m always uneasy about these things on the possibility that something slips out that maybe shouldn’t. I’m one of those folks who is thankful that UBL was taken out, but don’t feel the need to know anymore than that it “got done.” I never felt the need to know the SEALs were the ones who did the deed, anymore than I want to know if Delta and AFSOC were part of the operation as well.
Then again, maybe this book will make future administrations think twice about opening their fat yaps and putting the spotlight on (and taking credit for) the work of incredibly brave men who want only to remain in the darkness.
