Both conventions are well inland

Huh?

The Republican venues vary from 1 foot to 300 feet from the water; all of the venues and the hotels are in Category 1-Category 2 evacuation zones.

re: Huh?

Just thinking that this particular storm is coming from the east, and lose a good amount of steam getting to the Tampa’s west side. Clearly, a Gulf ‘caine would swamp Tampa.

However, I’ll admit I’m a pilot and weather lover; not going to Tampa, but if I had my druthers, I’d make a mad dash to it to combine the ‘caine experience with a political experience.

My sentiment still stands: I wish clear skies and tailwinds on Tampa; Tempests, F-5 Tornadoes, earthquakes and tsunamis on the DNC.

Agreed. Many are staying on the gulf beaches of Clearwater and St
Pete. If this is even a cat one, there will be mandatory evacuations. Further, the will have no place to stay and no flights out.
