Big picture my FRiend, big picture.

Excellent view point. The choice with Akin is to either have him remain on the ballot, or have the democrat unopposed on the ballot. We are past the Missouri filling deadline.

One other option is still viable. A national exposure of a write-in by the RNC. They do have some very good names, specifically Kitt Bond, to organize around. He could win it because of McCaskill’s horrible approval numbers in spite of those who cling to one issue to support Akin. But also consider if Akin falls far behind the write-in according to polling, how many of those will look reality squarely in the face to go write-in just so McCaskill will not get re-elected.

In your primary, Republicans received 64% of all primary ballots cast for both parties. That is only 36% for the Dems. So if Spence can win over Nixon, could he possibly by law make appointments for vacancies? I don’t know the law but will find out this week in between other things unless someone here can answer it with confidence. If he can, then all of a sudden Bond has to resign for something like medical reasons and Spence can then appoint the runner up in the primary.
