I agree. The Democrats are using Akin's offensive comment on rape to smear all Republicans but specifically Romney and Ryan. It's the old, phony 'war on women' meme intended to siphon as many female votes away from Romney-Ryan as possible and it will probably have some effect, although not enough to save Obama. Akin should realize that he is now being used by the Democrats to hurt the GOP 'brand' and show integrity by putting his ego aside and leaving the senate race - which the GOP very much needs to win - thus allowing a candidate with a better chance of success to run for the senate seat. The hostility toward Akin is overblown here but so is the hostility toward Sarah Palin who was simply expressing frustration with Akins petulant intransigence. I'm sure she realizes that third party candidates rarely beat incumbents. The 'bottom line': Akin has to go.
And leave the democrat as the only person on the ballot? The filing deadline has passed.
All in the attempt to distract this election from the key issues of the economy and 0bama's mess to CRAP like this! Thank you Todd. May we have another?!
CNN's Costello: Like Todd Akin, Paul Ryan Might Be Soft on 'Rape' (Here we go)
And with help from idiot Akin himself(?!) - Akin Tells Hannity That Romney Exploited Rape Statement Controversy For Political Gain
The GOP has earned the nickname ... The Stupid Party.
How offensive was Akin's comment on rape? He should have used the word forcible instead of legitimate. He and Paul Ryan co-sponsored a bill that made that distinction, i.e., forcible rape (an FBI term) and other kinds of rape like statutory rape between two consensual partners.
Should the GOP also distance itself from Akins 97.24 lifetime ACU rating? Or his A+ rating from NumbersUSA on immigration issues? The Dems "War on Women" attacks started long before Akin. Ask Rush Limbaugh who had to apologize for some remarks he made about Sandra Fluke who will speak at the Dem Convention.
