“Akin maybe kicked out of the GOP tomorrow.”
That is a really stupid statement. The GOP cannot kick anybody out. Only voters have that ability. The voters in Missouri will decide on Aiken not the GOPe, and especially not you carpet baggers interfering with Missouri politics.
Aiken properly and legally won the primary. He IS the candidate (as people like to say about Myth Romney the Magic Mormon). Either folks vote for him (Akin) or McRascal. Writein votes don’t work in Missouri. It is too late to mount a third party candidate also. Also, to do so will alienate SOCON Republicans here in Missouri. That could cost Myth this state as well.
“The GOP cannot kick anybody out.”
How much do you want to bet?
“Aiken properly and legally won the primary.”
It doesn’t matter,he got $1.5 million in capaign funds from Democrats. We are going to turn off all of his $$$$. Without out it he will not get elected.
I’ll interfere in any state’s business I want to.
Got it?
And there ain’t a damn thing you can do about it.
BTW, read your profile...
Social issues more important than national security and defense?
Okay, you’ve convinced me that you’re a nut.
“Also, to do so will alienate SOCON Republicans here in Missouri.”
I am a social conservative and Akin is a disgrace to the cause with his incoherent rantings. He is totally inept and unelectable. It is time for one of the other candidates who are also pro-life take the mantel and run. He has alienated many pro-life people because of his abject stupidity.
I don't see why you say they "don't work" in Missouri. There's no prohibition except against those who lost to Akin. it's not "too late" to mount a third party campaign if it's as a write-in.
Real SOCON Republicans WANT to win. They're not as suicidal as some around these parts. Akin admitted Tuesday with Sean Hannity there are thousands in Missouri who could do as well as he can talking and advocating these issues. And yet, somehow, he is clinging to hope of greater power and a bigger payday.
He's dead wrong to stay. However, he even left himself an escape window by saying he'll review the polls next month since there's another deadline in September as if the writing isn't already on the way for his candidacy.
What will you and the dozen others think if he does come to his senses and quits leaving the party's replacement just a few weeks to pull together a candidacy to defeat McCaskill?
You all make the foolish mistake believing his replacement will necessarily be anything other than a common sense, pro-life, conservative. He might be the last two but he falls well short on the first criteria.
