He’s on Hannity radio. Horrible. Doesn’t get it. Won’t get out at all.
Engineers are horrible in politics. Dems were smart to spend a million on this guy.
Sununu must be the exception that proves the rule.
Yeah, I heard part of that interview too. Akin is simply convinced he`s going to win.
I agree the dems were smart to support him. A master stroke.
That`s why their oppo researchers get paid the big bucks. The dems looked over the backgrounds, found their man, played their version of “Operation Chaos” and here we are.

So he will join the likes of Angle, and O’Donnell as yet another poster child for the Right. And that’s sad because the Right is right, but they (we) seem destined to do shallow research on those we put forth as our candidates and we then get “rewarded” with people who have an innate ability to put their mouths in gear before their brains are engaged.

I listened to Hannity’s interview of Akin on my iPhone while I was sitting around waiting for my son to get finished with his dental appointment and you are absolutely right, Akin was HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! Not only doesn’t he “get it” he’s very clearly deluding himself about his level of “support” (which is crashing around him and he can’t see it). Wait until the general election gears up. Akin is isolated, his financial support is evaporating and, worst of all, he’s coming across as a self-centered politician every minute he tries to say he’s “standing on principle”. The Democrats and their allies will destroy him once they fully gear up their campaign and he’ll be sitting there able only to mount the most pitiful defense. My opinion of Akin has changed 180 degrees. He was quoting that bogus PPP poll to claim he’s still ahead. If he believes the poll after looking at the internals, he’s STUPID, gullible and a fool. If he realized the poll is bogus and quotes it to say he’s ahead, he’s evil and a disgrace.
I apologize to all the FReepers who I may have implied were part of a lynch mob and circular firing squad. You clearly had a better understanding of Akin than I had.
On “principle” he’s going to hand McCaskill another term. Principle my foot—he’s a self-centered despicable politician who would rather see his country go down the tubes than to see conservative Republicans other than himself go against McCaskill. I urge all Missourians to shun this unprincipled creature. He claims to be doing God’s work when he’s really allowing himself to be a tool of Satan. Beneath all contempt!!
Akin needs to study what happened to Joe Paterno. Paterno didn’t do the right thing when he had the chance and, as a result, all the good things he did in his life are overshadowed by the pain and misery his poor choices caused. Paterno put self above all else and died in shame.
Akin has been a reliable conservative vote in Congress, but if his mistake plays a part in Democrats keeping either or both the Senate and the Presidency, his conservative voting record will mean nothing, just as Paterno’s wins mean nothing.
Gaining a seat in the U.S. Senate is not worth risking your legacy and life’s work.
