Call it a wise investment in light of his recent comments: Democrats wanted Missouri Republican congressman Todd Akin to win his states hotly contested Senate GOP primary because they believed he gave incumbent Senator Claire McCaskill her best shot at retaining her seat. As the Washington Post reported earlier this month:
Theres a reason why Democrats spent over $1.5 million trying to help Akin win his three-way primary. He was the most conservative candidate in the field and the most unpredictable one. He shook up his campaign staff late last year. He recently released a head-scratching and jumbled campaign ad. And Democrats have already launched a microsite highlighting his controversial statements that wont play well with moderates. (America has got the equivalent of the stage III cancer of socialism because the federal government is tampering in all kinds of stuff it has no business tampering in, Akin once said.)
Heres how the Democrats did it, running ads in the GOP primary that were intended to boost his appeal among the most conservative primary voters:
The latest example is a n
And Sarah Palin suggested that Obama might want to replace Baffling Joe Biden with someone else (Shrillary?). So now Obama won’t do that because it was her idea. Everyone here thought that was brilliant.
So now many here are saying, if the Dems want Akin on the ticket (O’Really?) we should replace Akin—the conservative candidate who won but recently made a verbal miscue.
What is this? George Costanza “Opposite” strategerizing? “Jerry, what I’ve been doing is the exact opposite of what I think I should be doing and it’s been working out great for me! Following that skewed logic, we should all plan on voting for the Kenyan ...
This is a non-issue. The only reason it’s being posted ad infinitum here is because our GOP-e `Chicken Littles’ are swooning/having heart palpitations over non-stop MSM coverage of the types of things Zero and Joe say all the time ... that’s too bad, to go through life with balls like BBs.
Oh, yeah: No Romney. No way, no how. Why? Because this is a conservative site. And now you’re thinking, “OK, he SAYS `No Romney’, but what he MEANS ... “.
Akin is a conservative. Support him, or keep your pie-hole shut.
Just because someone is conservative doesn’t make them a good candidate. His appearance on radio and tv has shown him to be a terrible candidate that is stupid and will cost us Mo and will have additional national implications.
If you want to support stupidity and lose Missouri for “purity” do it.
Neologisms like Bush would make are verbal miscues.
Making TOTALLY INCORRECT obscene statements is not a miscue. Shove that in your ignorant pie hole.
