Chief Castor takes questions about Friday's find. TAMPA (FOX 13) - Tampa police say they've confiscated suspicious items from a rooftop in Tampa in the buildup to the Republican National Convention.
The items included bricks and pipes, which were found along with anarchist-style graffiti Friday evening atop a business at 1000 North Florida Ave., which is at the corner of Florida Avenue and Tyler Street.
"We are appreciative that the business owner called us," TPD Chief Jane Castor said this afternoon.
"Finding those items for us was not a surprise," she added. "We are just pleased to see the communications process worked the way it did."
Stay with FOX 13 for more updates.
Big Dem. But we are talking $ and reputation. This find was just on the local news. Press conference ahead. Looks like they were going to throw bricks and pipes off the roof.
I was just talking to my neighbor (Tampa PD officer) and he says they’ve had extensive training to work the convention along with coordination from other state/fed agencies. He’ll be working 12 days straight and says they’ll all be ready for anything...hope so.
I guess the gig is up.
Bad plan, or a media stunt?
I pick the media.
Thanks for the first hand report. Praying that it all goes off without a hitch or violent OWS dudes crapping on police cars....lol.
“We are appreciative that the business owner called us,”
That was sweet to rat out the informant!
Oh of course!
Be alert, and be prepared.
Stay armed, be safe.
Yes, at least one was from Austin.
Some of the people were caught on tape saying they didn’t care if they were to kill a cop firebombing his car.

The City of Tampa is hard core, big spending, liberal democrat from the Mayor on down.
I plan to put bumper stickers on my car.
At MJ designs, and other crafts stores, for a nominal fee, you can purchase a rolled magnetic sheet. It’s called: Adhes.A.Mag.
You stick your bumper sticker to that sheet, and cut out around it. That way, your sticker adheres to the car by magnet. When you’re parking in an “iffy” parking lot or neighborhood, take the bumper stickers off and put them in your trunk.
It’s very easy to do.

Sounds like New Black Panthers. They said they would cause trouble.Bunch of punks.
That doesn’t bode well IMHO.
Thanks. I will look into that.
Some with bumper stickers. Conservatives/Republicans very rarely put them out because of the “peaceful” liberals and their vandalism.
Bricks and pipes could probably be found on most big buildings in most cites. If this is the best they can do there are no real worries.
The latest deficit figure coming out of the well run City of Tampa: $30,000,000.
Typical Democrats, spend more than you take in.
Oh joy, 2 blocks from where I work.
No, they go for in-your-face type confrontations.
It’s because we respect private property.
