>> The Virgina man who made national headlines for alleged possession of assault rifles and other apparent weapons of terrorism ...

Not that this guy shouldn’t be in jail for a long time — he tried to knock over a store — but are “assault rifles” a “weapon of terrorism”?

What is a “defaced firearm”? Hollow points and large cap magazines are illegal in Va?

A .223 Bushmaster converted to .50 cal? I’d be scared to pull the trigger on that. Maybe that’s why he didn’t use it when he had the chance. Didn’t know that magazines and hollow-pionts were illegal.

Damn. Even if it works ... that’s gonna kick like a sonofabitch. I thought .50 cal rifles had to have special barrels to absorb and reduce the recoil to human capacity.

From the article:

"During the struggle, officers noticed that Woodson was concealing a loaded Bushmaster semi-automatic .223 caliber rifle which was converted to .50 caliber. "(Bold-face is mine)

How can you do that?

This is New Jersey, fairly strict gun laws for the law-abiding citizen. As far as I know hollow points are illegal...

FYI: The accused was pleading insanity, supposedly a paranoid schizophrenic... looks like no one bought it...
