What you’re missing is that RWKansas and I go all the way back to the Calvin Wars on the Religion Forum years ago. Without that context it would have been impossible for you to understand the theological snicker that was going on there. :>)
That said, the man did earn a Master of Divinity there, an MDiv is generally the preparatory degree for ordination and ministry, he’s been a lifelong conservative with an extremely high ACU rating, and in this instance he was actually trying to make a case for preserving an innocent life.
I’m betting that Akins is the real deal when it comes to his Christian faith, and that he’s not departed from it even in Congress.

I would bet he’s a Christian, but not because of his MDiv. I’ve met too many pastors who didn’t believe in God...at least, not in the God revealed in the Bible.
