His rate was at 31% BECAUSE OF THE WAR! PERIOD! Nobody cared about the economy. Everybody wanted out of Iraq and Afghanistan!

Nice revision of history. I rarely use this word (and until now I never had to use it in FR) but you're spewing pure propaganda now.

We did not lose in 2006 because of the War On Terror (Iraq/Afghanistan).

HAHAHA.. Funny... I know you have absolutely zero interest in logic or the truth, but here you go anyway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popular_opinion_in_the_United_States_on_the_invasion_of_Iraq

September 2004
A CBS poll showed that 54% of Americans believed the Iraq invasion was the right thing to do, up from 45% in July in the same poll.

July 2006
A CBS/New York Times poll was conducted from 21–25 July 2006. 1,127 adults were polled nationwide, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3%. Thirty percent of those polled said the invasion of Iraq was worth the American casualties and other costs, while 63% said the war was not worth it. Six percent was unsure. 32% said they approved of the way George W. Bush was handling the situation in Iraq, 62% disapproved, with six percent unsure.

Blah blah blah.

The MSM really has you all scared.

What was the story in 2002, 04, and 2010? Was the Waffen-MSM in the john and forgot to set the narrative?

How about you just ignore the little freaks, instead of dutifully tuning in everyday and lamenting their predictable bias?

Try setting the narrative yourself.

The party in power had an approval rating in the low 30%’s, we had an unpopular war, and you want to blame our defeat on Mark Foley?!

Agree completely. It’s amazing how spooked some of these people are. Nobody in Wisconsin or Ohio could give a damn about something stupid some unknown in Missouri said. Couldn’t give a flying f-—. Outside of Missouri, it has an effect on ZERO voters. CNN could talk about it for 24/7 until the election.

If you’d bother to goto that link instead of shutting your eyes and ears while saying “Nananana I can’t hear you” like a 3 year old child, you would every poll on the planet had the war unpopular in 2006. What planet were you living on during 2006?

Rasmussen had Dems +8% congressional ballot edge BEFORE the Mark Foley stuff either broke.

He also... nevermind.. It’s pointless. You were proven to make a false statement. You’ll continue bobbing, weaving, and bullshitting to defend your stupid position because you are too proud to admit you screwed up and made a stupid mistake (kinda like Akin!!)..

Zig Zigler If God would have wanted us to live in a permissive society He would have given us Ten Suggestions and not Ten Commandments. Zig Ziglar Remember when FR was a conservative site? We were young and wild, and we liked to wear onions on our belts ....Throw another conservative under the bus: The MSM doesn't like him. I'm back with you know. Romney can go pound sand. Phooie!

Akin smeared himself.

This is big news because if he doesn't exit by today's deadline, it'll take a court order to remove him from the ballot.

I don't expect a court to remove him.

He's showing himself to be above the causes he claims to support, above the people, above the party, above the country. Clearly he's as arrogant as he is ignorant.

Today's PPP poll has hims "up 1" but PPP is a Dem polling outfit and oversampled Republicans by 9 to get that outcome. If you use equal turnout, or past turnout, Akin's behind McCaskill by 7-10 points.

We want him out because we're trying to keep Akin from moving from political suicide to homicidal bomber.

“The one-man wrecking crew just turned this race from 2010 part 2 to 2006 part 2.”

Well, I guess we shouldn’t even bother voting then, since you are so certain that all is lost.

Who needs to wait till october the august surprise and gift just dropped for obama in a saint louis television station.

This is beyond serious.... he literally has changed the entire dialogue of this election that we were starting to turn around. We had obama in a corner as of 48 hours ago... now 1 a****** in missouri is going to destroy the entire country.

Hah. Funny. Go ahead and vote if you think it will make a difference. In most places, it will. We’ll still win a lot of battles, but this one-man screwup will tip the war against us.

Your comment belies very little understanding of what we are REALLY up against.

So far, Romney and other Repubs have managed to slip past the Mainstream Media attempts to pigeon-hole them, and take control of the meme.

Akins stupid comment has now allowed that to happen. It is being repeated OVER,and OVER, and OVER, on every major news outlet across the country.
CNN is ramming it home.
NBC is ramming it home.
CBS is ramming it home.
Etc,etc, adn.

IT NO LONGER MATTERS WHAT THE TRUTH IS, unfortunately, or even if this is a good guy or not. The meme is established, and the meme is being pimped, mercilessly.

It’s not fair, but it is reality. Elected Democrat Pedophiles can meet teens they stalked on facebook, for behind-the-bushes blowjobs, and the Major Media won’t cover it.
But, let a Republican make a single gaffe, intentional or not, and it’s endless news, placed before the sheeple at every hour, of every day.

To deny that FACT, deny’s the reality of the situation we find ourselves in today.

In 2006...

“Nobody cared about the economy.”

I distinctly remember the Democrats campaigning on...”the worst economy since Hoover,” in 2006, as one of their main talking points....

That said, there were a myriad of reasons for GWB’s low ratings....
Primarily it was a 24/7 full 360* assault on Bush from 2000 on through 2006 by both the MSM and the Dems. Any single issue such as Iraq/Afghanistan was was just part over the overall campaign to destroy the “selected” Presidency of GWB that was “stolen” from Al Gore in 2000.

Surprising how many “conservatives” adopted many of the Dems talking points and continue in that vein even today.

Fantasy????? lololol Know thyself!

Oh I know the media will keep hammering it, I never denied that. In fact, I think if you read the first comment I made on this thread, you’ll see I acknowledge that pretty clearly. I just think it’s silly and defeatist to assume that we’re toast in this election cycle right now, because of this one incident. Maybe that will turn out to be the case, but it serves no good purpose to go around thinking that at this point.

I mean, when your star quarterback gets injured before halftime, you don’t sit in the lockerroom saying “Well, this is going to be just like that game we lost back in 2003”. What good could that possibly do?

(p.s - the ping “All” function hasn’t worked for years. You have to actually put the name of every single person on the thread in there if you want to ping them now.)
