Now Claire is in a panic trying save his bacon, after she spent so much money to get him elected. He only won because so many democrats voted for him. The problem is, he imploded too soon. He has to go, not because of what he said, but because he is a Trojan horse.
A statement like Akin made makes no sense. He knew (or should have known) how it would be perceived.
So he probably threw the election. The main question should be “Why?”
