Some of what's being said about this guy is indefensible, by the likes of Mitt Romney included. I happen to believe in Christian values. I don't believe in making a sacrifice of someone who doesn't deserve it for my own political gain. The big smear seems to be saying that Akin believes some rapes are "legitimate," i.e. good, which is such garbage. And instead of saying he misspoke, which any intelligent person should know he did, Romney is out there saying the comments were indefensible. Republicans should be out in full force defending one of their own from a vicious, false smear, not helping to ruin this guy's reputation.

Why would anyone want to join a party like this that doesn't stick up for its own people but instead piles on them when they're down? The "what would Jesus do" test does not include throwing more stones on someone who is in the process of being stoned in the hopes that you can keep your popularity up. What's being done to Akin from both sides is as sinful as anything I've seen in a political campaign. I won't participate in that for political gain or any other reason. It's just wrong.
