The "prayer vigil" thing is a way for him to say, "I prayed and reflected and came to this decision on my own yada yada"
Orrr, there's the chance he's really praying about this. Not everyone is so "political." If it was Huckabee, Santorum, or Jindal, I'd say they were truly praying. I don't know if Akin is in their same league, faith-wise, but I know for sure (based on his history) Romney is not. :)

I have nothing at all against prayer. Actual, honest prayer and contrition. Politicians? Meh....
