I really can't understand the GOP, which eats its own. A mere statement, which Akin apologized for is sufficient to draw a mob that denounces him with some calling for his to withdraw from the race.

Part of it is RINOs who will take any opportunity to throw Christian conservatives under the bus. This was why Christine O'Donnell was treated like she was from the very second she won the primary.

Another part is many more people than one would expect having difficulty actually hearing, understanding and interpreting language correctly. It's one reason Obama won the election. People saw meanings in his words that weren't really there. I'm still trying to figure out why everyone thought Romney introduced Paul Ryan as the next "president" when he clearly said "vice president" the first time, making that not a gaffe at all.
