This. The reason these organizations are moving so swiftly to denounce this guy is because politically he’s dead in the water. If he remains, McCaskill get’s re-elected....guaranteed.

The GOP’s best chance to pick up the seat is for Akin to go “spend some time with his family” and put Brunner or Steelman in there, beat out McCaskill, take the W, take the Senate and repeal Obamacare next year.

...and for those calling us COWARDS:

Yeah, I know what he meant, but he should have been smart enough not to even take such a baited question. Then when making what ‘may have seen to have been a blunder’, he should have IMMEDIATELY cleared it up - and not waited for the firestorm FROM HIS OWN SIDE.

Then he was supposed to be on KMOX to clear it up but, no. Let’s go on Huckabee’s show to do it. The only thing he did was to help Huck’s ratings.

Folks, I live in WNY, but was listening the Rush sub out of KFI in LA. It’s the TOP of every radio station news, and such a slow pitch over home plate that the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue had to jump in about it (oh yeah - something to change the subject, THANK YOU!)

This guy could have cleared this up within 60 mins after the it was said, and a clarification WAS in order.

He didn’t.

He campaign funds will dry up overnight.

The write-in campaign for a replacement begins oh say... right after the evening news in St Louis.

...and he’ll have a come to Jesus moment over dinner with the wife and kids tonight. Only question is will it be before or after the Romney phone call.

- I’m out (and so is Akin)
