Ditto...Akin’s remarks are beyond the pale and cannot be explained away, no matter how much he tries. Claire McCaskill is probably the most unpopular incumbent senator in the country. By remaining in the race, Akin virtually guarantees her another term.
It’s time for some elder statesmen from the Missouri GOP (Kit Bond, Jim Talent and Roy Blount) to pay Akin a visit and tell him its time to go.
Steelman finished third in the primary. John Brunner was the runner-up to Akin. If Akin steps aside--and I'm not saying he should--but if he does, it would seem Brunner is next in line.
