Yeah, but on Star Trek there aren't any Christians either, only multiculturalist secular humanists (what's "the Prime Directive" but non-judgmental multiculturalism writ large?).

Of course other science fiction offers a more cheerful future: Niven and Pournelle's The Mote in God's Eye offers a future in which mankind has reorganized itself into a revival of the Christian Roman Empire.
