I suspect that you are correct and that’s why Messina changed his demand to only five years - and specified 2007-2010, in addition to the 2010-2011 Romney has agreed to show. My guess is that in 2006 (the 2007 return), Romney made a small donation to an organization such as Planned Parenthood. Once he started running for President in 2007, he realized how badly that would be taken by conservatives and he hasn’t done anything like that since.
Obama clearly already has the info from the returns but he can’t figure out a way to leak it without getting into trouble. As the election draws closer, he will get more desperate. I think you are correct that the info will hit some time in early October - the question is will it destroy Romney or will he play it to his advantage by portraying the President as the pathetic loser that he is?
