Well the fact he was an “O”, lost part of his leg,- and, don’t forget - that most of what the SEAL’s did was sort of under wraps etc,.....
Ok...in Feb 69 he was involved in a raid where some civilians were offed and he was ‘accused’ of having a hand in killing a civilian. He got a BZ star for this action (the raid) and later denied the hand in killings. The charges were leveled at him around 2001 from the then most experienced member of his team.
I believe Kerrey was running for the “D” nomination at the time, so the circumstances for the ‘outing’ may have been similar to the Kerry ‘outing’.
