I remember one supervisor telling me.” We is in charge now”.
He was right, I never saw a job go downhill so fast.
“I remember one supervisor telling me. We is in charge now.”
I’m sure a lot of the increase in black unemployment is a result of companies tightening their belts, starting with any employees that lack English grammar skills. It is easy to eliminate dead “affirmative action” wood amidst larger layoffs, and it is easier for companies to eliminate many candidates for the few openings around with simple requirements that were tossed by the wayside when the labor market was tight.
For the first time since I can recall, I actually believe “women and minorities hit worst” does apply to the Obama economy. Nobody has to hire anyone that might file a racial or gender grievance; there are so many more candidates that don’t fit those molds with superior qualifications so the hirings can’t be challenged in court.
Affirmative action has come full circle; in tough times merit is all that matters.
