That Aiken is totally clueless on several aspects of this.

As for voting for who people want, I agree.  I voice my thoughts on it, but they aren't intended to talk folks out of voting for Romney.  I'm just explaining why I can't.

I encourage anyone who wants to, to vote for the guy.  I'm not going to have to live with that decision.  They should do what makes sense to them.

It sure is incredible. I sure hope he doesn’t screw things up for us. If he does, this guy is going to go down in history as one of the dimmest bulbs on the planet.

I encourage you to vote for whoever you like.  If that's Romney, do it with my blessing.

The one thing folks need to keep in mind, is that I live in California.  I can assure you, my withheld vote is not going to tip it to Obama.  My withheld vote and ten million others, maybe, just maybe.

I will admit, that WAS NOT factored into my decision.

I agree with your take on it SickOfLibs.

Romney will:

...cause people here to support him because he has an (R) after his name.  We see it already.  As long as he's POTUS, we're stuck with that.
...move people to the Left, as they seek to be supportive.  They'll want him re-elected, so they'll defend him.
...have no opposition to legalizing illegal immigrants...
...have no opposition to Federalized RomneyCare...
...have no opposition to more massive Free Trade, and millions more jobs moved off-shore
...have no opposition to excessive spending in the name of Conservatives.  In fact all this will be done in our name.
...have no opposition to nominating Leftist SCOTUS candidates
...have no opposition to cutting our military
...have no opposition to continuing on with massive welfare payouts, and cutting things we want money spent on, that are reasoned

And while he does this and countless other things in our name...

People here will be defending him at length.

Electing a Leftist Republican to the White House, garners support for just about anything he does by 50% of the people here on this forum
Electing a Leftist Republican to the White House, garners Conservatives here a label that says, you will be attacked at will

He will have carte blanche to do anything he wants with homeland security, from a Leftist's point of view

I expect Romey and Ryan to win.  I also expect true Conservatism to be nearly silenced, for another eight years.  Welcome to Bush III...

Enjoy folks.  Don't say I didn't warn you.

If Romney moves to the left, unopposed, then buh bye, America. I have posted many times that I despise Romney, but Obama will destroy the country. Why? Because the GOP has already proven that they will do nothing to stop Obama. We need Obama to lose, and then the Tea Party needs to picket D.C. constantly.....relentlessly. In fact, the Tea Party needs to beat the $hit out of the GOPe.

Let me just run one thing by you.

If Romney legalizes the 20 to 35 million illegal immigrants here, it will result in somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 to 130 million foreign nationals being added to our citizens in under twenty years.

Now, we can hardly combat the political weight extended to the 13% of our populace that is Hispanic now. What happens when that 13% suddenly becomes 35 to 40%?

Game! Set! Match!

Do you see why I’m not giggling with delight, that we’ve got another first class RINO headed for the White House?

This is just one of many massive game changers that guys like Romney can put into motion, that we will NEVER be able to undo.

We are essentially in Check-Mate right now. We have no move.

You guys can kid yourself that you do. You don’t.

I’m not saying that to give you a hard time. We’re on the same side. I just think folks are kidding themselves.

The nomination process this year, was essentially political suicide. The bullet has been shot off. We’re just waiting for the impact.

Either way, this nation is probably going to be fatally damaged in the next four years.

I’m beyond being angry about it. There’s plenty to make me furious, but anger at this point is so wasteful. The damage is done. I have resigned myself to the inevitable.

BTW: When I see Romney or Ryan on the tube, I turn down the sound and whistle, “Put on a Happy Face”. That’s all they’re doing.

Look, we see Obama for what he is, because he’s their guy. The problem I am addressing is this. We haven’t come to terms with the reality of what our guy really is, and what he is about to do to this nation.

That in itself is a very self-destructive process that ultimately leads to Dems being in the position they were in 2009 and 2010.

The infighting between the two sides of the Republican party was a big part of why Democrats got the upper hand (immigration, etc) while they stayed united and even now with such low approval of the congress, passing bills they later demonize as self destructive.

If you really hate Democrats having them united and Republicans divided is the last thing you need. Yet with liberals in charge of the Republican party...???

You and I spent many years in California, so we both watched the damage done by illegal immigration. If the 20-25 million illegals are given amnesty, America as we know it is finished. And yes, the 35-40% prediction is very accurate.

” I’m not saying that to give you a hard time. We’re on the same side. I just think folks are kidding themselves.”

Yes we are. Our chances of survival, as a free vibrant nation, are slim.

when I did Spring Break (Daytona) in the late 70s, most girls were not fat at all

very few women of that age were more than 5 pounds over ideal bodyweight

amazing how much fatter women are now

Okay. Suggestions?

The RINOS control the GOP in D. C. Our leaders in the House & Senate suck. What do we do?

Didnt you buy property in Australia?? We were going to all move in with you, kind of like that 1960s movie On The Beach.

Have Republicans ever followed my suggestions? They seem to have a death wish. That is why I refuse to commit myself emotionally to this race.

Romney was asked by Huck-bee about abortion laws and he replied that he just assume that Roe be overturned. Huck was pressing Romney to commit to more federal laws outlawing abortion.

Now abortion like marriage I just assume be regulated by the states, as with voting, etc.

So does this sound like Romney and I agree?

Well when pressed Romney told Huck the reason why he wants the SCOTUS to do it (meaning the states to do it) rather than the federal government is that it is more ‘politically feasible’ to do it that way.

Feasible??? That is not my reason. Does Romney believe in anything?

Yes I did, over 3 years ago. I am visiting there in a few weeks.

I disagree that Republicans in D.C. have a death wish. Over the years, the RINOS have taken control, and they are just WHORES, for sale to the highest bidder. At least 80% aren’t worth urinating on, IMHO.

” . Does Romney believe in anything? “

Yes, Romney.

He has all the money he will ever need, so now he desires power. Is he a whore? Yes. 100%. Will he move hard to the left, if elected? Depends on if the left or right is in his best interest. If enough conservative/financial money pledges allegiance, on condition that he moves right, he will move right. If not, he will probably move left. Too hard to predict at least for me.

Folks haven’t the slightest idea what the full ramifications of illegal immigration are. We are being occupied by foreign nationals.
