Birth Certificate is not an issue in Texas UIL competition. If a student is enrolled in the seventh grade, he can play on the seventh grade football team. Age only becomes an issue in a student's senior year of High School. You are not allowed to play a high school sport if you turn 19 before the season begins!

After reading the article again, it's my opinion this mother just wants her 15 minutes of fame. And of course the media whores at WFAA and ESPN gladly gave it to her!

This is my real point about parents holding their child back so he will be the biggest seventh grader and make the middle school team and then be the biggest high school freshman and make the varsity team and be a standout hs football player and get recruited to LSU.
