- He avoids the State Fair bumper cars, speaks to smaller groups, and makes fewer promises than he did in 2008.
Four years after Iowa propelled President Barack Obama to the White House, he needs the state more than ever, but a tour through his old campaign stomping grounds this week revealed a much different political climate - and a much different candidate -- than the Iowa and the Obama of four years ago.

A friend of mine works for a newspaper in So CAL. He told me that advertising revenues are down, a lot. What they are selling are at discounted prices.
Some people blame the Internet, but they say people are still buying the paper.
If that doesn’t change the politics of the editorial page, nothing will.

"He's a real person. His whole family -- everybody can relate to him," said Jan Bilsten, 57, a Democrat from Cedar Falls A question for Ms. Bilsten - how many state fairs has Obama been to when he wasn't campaigning...you know...like real persons do?

"He's a real person. His whole family -- everybody can relate to him," said Jan Bilsten, 57, a Democrat from Cedar Falls.
"I like to drink beer. Everybody likes to relax with a glass of wine or drink a beer," she said. And this is actually how a major part of his supporters decide who to vote for.
Amazing and terrifying.
At least I'm voting for Obama 'cause I heard he's friends with Jay Z.

One of the first men whose hand Obama tried to shake at the fair told him “No, thank you,” and turned away, scowling as the president made his way down the street.

OH YEAH!!! You go dude!! Screw this “respect him because he is the President bulls**t!” I have about as much respect for him as I do Charles Manson. I would NOT shake his hand anymore than I would have shaken Hitler’s hand as he marched through and invaded Poland.

Iowa is showing for Romney right now, even on this liberal site: http://electoral-vote.com/
I think it is going to get worse and worse for obama and as the press abandons him (don’t want to support the loser) he will go into freefall.
I think that is when he will melt down with the result that he will not finish his term.

I said this on another thread, but it bears repeating:
I'm convinced that the only way Romney/Ryan will lose on Nov. 6, 2012, is if Obama and his Chicago thugs find a way to steal this Election. I put nothing past them. But, Romney, Ryan, the GOP and the RNC know this; so, hopefully they are prepared for whatever might happen and can deflect it. Like I say, I put nothing past them and it has me somewhat worried. Just gotta believe our team is on top it.

“He’s a real person. His whole family — everybody can relate to him,” said Jan Bilsten, 57, a Democrat from Cedar Falls. “I like to drink beer. Everybody likes to relax with a glass of wine or drink a beer,” she said.”
“That, in a nutshell, is what’s wrong with the country — half the electorate is completely and totally braindead and on government life support.”
Yep, that’s the intelligence level of the typical Obummer supporter: “he likes to drink a beer, I like to drink a beer. That’s why I’m supporting him.”
With idiots like her on the loose, and the “Obama gone pay my rent” crowd, you have to factor in an irreducible number of cretins who will vote Dim by default.

When your fiscal policies are akin to a drunken sailor, it’s best not to use beer as a prop.

My dream is to see Obama defeated.
Those three months (Nov-Jan), when he's a one term lame ducker, will be so satisfying. Seeing him slumber around, realizing he's one of the biggest failures in presidential history will be so sweet.

I LOVE the author of the article's wry sense of humor: "In Marshalltown, roughly 555 people showed up to hear him speak. In Oskaloosa, there were 852."
"Roughly indeed--like saying a bill was "roughly" $17.27!
This "just the facts" approach to reporting makes me smile, because it very subtly reveals how much the "bloom has come off the rose" for Obama.

During Obama's "beer summit" with Sgt. Crowley at the White House, the only person who drank a real beer was Sgt. Crowley. (He had a Blue Moon. The others had non-alcoholic beer.)
Of course it was smart not to let Joe Biden drink something alcoholic--he might have blurted out something stupid.
