Sarah Palin told Obama to dump Joe Biden yesterday.
Barack Obama defended Joe Biden yesterday for his outrageous racial remarks. He also told reporters that he will keep Joe on the ticket despite calls (from Sarah Palin) to dump him. FOX News reported, via Free Republic:
President Obama defended Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday against criticism of his remarks that Republican repeal of Wall Street regulations would put voters “back in chains.”
Obama also brushed off Sarah Palin’s suggestion on Fox News that he drop Biden from the ticket in favor of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee and a Fox News contributor, had said Biden’s comments are the latest example of how he “really drags down that ticket.”
“If that’s not the nail in the coffin, really, the strategists there in the Obama campaign have got to look at a diplomatic way of replacing Joe Biden on the ticket with Hillary,” Palin said. “And I don’t want to throw out that suggestion and have them actually accept the suggestion because then an Obama-Hillary Clinton ticket would have a darn good chance of winning.”
But Obama, in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” downplayed Palin’s comments.
“We don’t spend a lot of time worrying about the chatter and the noise and this and that,” he said. “The country isn’t as divided with gaffes or some stray remark as Washington is. Most folks know that’s just sort of a WWF wrestling part of politics. It doesn’t mean anything, just fills up a lot of air time.”
He also said in an interview with People magazine that Biden’s remarks meant consumers would be worse off if Republicans succeeded in doing away with new restraints on financial institutions.
I don’t see any such denial in Obama’s comments at all.
All I see is him claiming that Palin doesn’t get into his head.
Biden is the only man for the job because he is the only guy they could find less competent than Obama so Obama is stuck with him.

I think that Obama knows that if Hillary was his VP, he wouldn’t be buyin’ any green bananas.
Obama can’t afford to fire Biden, Joe knows too much, and Obama cannot risk that Joe might turn on him.
Anyone notice that Obama hasn’t fired ANYONE? He needs everyone to love him, so he’s a wimp when it comes to personal conflict-a fatal flaw, even for someone running a hardware store, let alone the US government.
Some have stepped down, and many of those have become thorns in his side. Daly and Orszag come to mind....
I think this is what Sarah knew when she made her “suggestion”.

Apparently Mr. Trickle Down Fairy Dust doesn’t know the difference between WWF (World Wildlife Fund, another enviro group) and the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). While it’s true that WWF used to stand for World Wrestling Federation it lost a legal challenge to using WWF to the World Wildlife Fund in 2002. BTW thanks for keeping old Joe, he’s the gift that keeps on giving. Ryan will hand him his lunch in a debate.
I have read that “O” has 22 days to get rid of Biden... so if the drop-dead date is that close, it will certainly get interesting here, pretty soon.
“O” could still drop Joe on some pretext or other... but NOW it would look VERY contrived!

I still think Biden will come down with a serious medical issue and won’t be able to run. obammma won’t ask Hillary, who would be acceptable, his wife, jessie jackson, anyone from msnbc, Romney’s dog?
Weekly Standard is reporting a meeting at the White House today with Obama, Biden, and Hillary. Suspicion is this VP swap might be reality. If so, were finished.
That is the reaction that Palin and some others wanted...a response to show how desperate, inept, and unloyal Obama is.

Is Biden intentionally doing this? Are mainstream Dems scared enough of this man and his Marxist entourage to torpedo the campaign from the inside?

I totally agree. Every RNC commercial should be about something financially broken with our system and Biden as Senate President hasn’t done crap. Use his quotes in the ad. Heck, we can say Biden kills puppies and use his quote about chaining them up.
