Delaware wasn't much of a slave state. Slavery was banned in Wilmington from the early 1800’s. It was illegal to export slaves from Delaware, and freemen far outnumbered slaves.
In 1860 blacks made up over 23% of the state's population with the following breakout:

Joe never represented the “average” Delawarean. He was owned by the banks and did their bidding. Same with Carper. Same with Coons. Same with Carney.
And the stupid “average” Delawarean continues to vote for the guy who shut down TWO auto plants, gave $800 Million to a company to build cars in Finland and agrees with his boss that all coal miners and oil workers must lose their jobs.

Still, he IS a donkey in a well.....
A family member had a donkey several years ago...she named him “Donkeyhoty” (Sounds like Don Quixote!) He was the sweetest little thing, and very cute. Seeing a picture of this endearing creature in a well brought a laugh to my heart.
But I really like the originally intended meaning of the picture too! A picture is truly worth a 1000 or 10,000 words!
