Gotta remember that Jonah Goldberg said last year his GOP buddies told him they were against Newt Gingrich in the primary because they were more terrified that Newt would win the election against Obama than that he would lose.

I didn't hear this before. Where did you read it? Hands down Newt is the Best Candidate for America. Obama would not have had a chance PLUS Newt would be the one to repeal and change the boy's errors.

I didn't hear this before. Where did you read it? Hands down Newt is the Best Candidate for America. 2nd paragraph in the article below. It just shows that this is a long, recurring theme among the GOP operatives. And I believe the Politico article because I believe Jonah when he said basically the same thing. Plus I spent months watching RINO after RINO endorse Romney and talk down the real conservatives in the primary. So I'm not surprised at all that as soon as a conservative gets on Romney's ticket, the GOP establishment knives come back out.

I also don't believe it's because they think Ryan will cause the ticket to lose. It's because they don't want the ticket to win. They could be projecting or scheming, I don't know. But I know that a real conservative would value their principles so much that they would be enthusiastic about fighting for them in an election. They would not be so lacking in confidence that they think conservative values would make it impossible to win at the ballot box.
