Goodbye, Florida? Why Ryan could dim Romney's prospects in the Sunshine State
NYDailyNews ^ | 8/14/2012 | MICHAEL COHEN

There are many bad things that you can say about Mitt Romney’s decision to choose Paul Ryan as his running mate – and I’ve written about a few of them here at the Rumble.

But perhaps one of most under-appreciated problems with the pick is the extent to which it imperils Romney’s chances of getting to 270 electoral votes and winning the White House.

Right now, President Obama has a rather striking advantage in the Electoral College.

Based on the most conservative read of the electoral map, Obama is starting with about 243 electoral votes – that’s not including Wisconsin, Iowa, New Hampshire or Colorado, Virginia or Ohio, all states where polling guru Nate Silver has Obama favored to win.

How does Obama find room for all of the MSM “journalists” under his desk?

Well they are running for President. What do you want them to do? When Romney runs again in 2016 (God Forbid) do you want him to say and do nothing? I would have been pissed if Bush did not try to win reelection in 2004.

“0bamacare cuts over $700 billion from MediCare. And the cuts in services begin in Jan.” Rinse, repeat constantly in FL and see what happens.

Romney’s internal polls must have him in a comfortable lead.

Apparently we are suppose to just ignore all polling data and cling to the White House directed narrative about Ryan.

Are these people who write this crap really this stupid?

Right, Michael... hide your eyes from the Romney +2 in Iowa, Romney +2 in NC, Romney +16 in Indiana, the deadlocks in VA, FL, CO and OH, and the closing gap in WI... all states Obama won in `08.

Oh, and avert your gaze from the Romney +3 in the Rasmussen, Romney +2 in the Gallup and the bare +1 lead for 0bama in the Politico poll.

Advantage Obama? Really?? Ummmmm... no.

Advertising is how they stay in business. They sell commercial time that is used to separate segments of the TV shows and companies buy what is called “air time”. With newspapers, they also sell advertisements but it is put on paper....a lot of stores advertise their Sales days and things like that. It is EXTREMELY lucrative. For example, Modern Family makes 483 million dollars a year for ABC and it only costs 1.5 million to make each episode. Advertising is BIG BUSINESS!!!!!!

Not too worry...We don’t have a candidate from the south. The press will ignore the South big time. Florida will get some attention but the rest of the south will not have any attention.

I’m not a Floridan but +1 on your comment.

Obama would be there instead of Iowa for 2 days if that was the case.

Meanwhile Ryan and/or Mitt have hit VA, FL, IA, WI, and CO...

If Mitt needed to shore up concerns in FL Ryan would have been there already...instead he’s not showing up for another week.

Keep dreaming MSM.

Great point.

Also, do Florida seniors not comprehend this statement: "If you're 55 or over, the Ryan Medicare Plan will not even affect you" ??

“...polling guru Nate Silver”

From Nate’s wikipedia page “...the son of Sally Silver, a community activist.”....I wonder what his worldview is?

In 2010, he predicted a GOP gain in the House of 54 seats...he was low, as Republicans gained 63.
