To: Buckeye McFrog

Up here in the great white north the term Canadian Bacon is seldom heard. Bacon yes but the point of origin of the piggy seems irrelevant. London Broil is another term that seems specific to the US. We do use french fries however. :)

I thought that north of the border Canadian Bacon was referred to as “back bacon”? At least that’s what those two great arbiters of Canadian culture, Bob and Doug MacKenzie have taught me.

It’s Canadian STYLE bacon, supposedly, because it’s cut in circles and it’s not cured like American style bacon. Then there’s the English Muffin, because it is absolutely nothing like a muffin in the USA.
