Egypt 'Refusing All Contact With Israel' Post-Government Shakeup
Big Government ^ | August. 13, 2012 | Gregory D. Chang

With a large Egyptian military buildup ongoing on the Sinai Peninsula, and coup-like consolidation of power to the Muslim Brotherhood over the weekend, Egypt is now refusing to speak to Israel. After last week’s attack on the Israeli border by Islamist militants operating out of the Sinai, Israel agreed to ease the restrictions of the 1979 peace treaty on Egyptian military operations in the Sinai, hoping Egypt would be able to bring the increasing lawlessness on the peninsula under control.

"It is too early to say what will happen because everything is evolving in Egypt, but we are following what is happening there with great concern", said an Israeli government official. "Military cooperation is more necessary than ever to re-establish order along the border and in Sinai. The new leadership in the Egyptian army knows that, but the question is what does the Egyptian leadership want? This question has not yet been answered because the new Egyptian government is refusing all contact with Israel".

It’s just a shame the U.S. doesn’t have a President. Maybe, he/she could deal with this.

Oh, no. The Moslem Brotherhood will be sending their rivals for power in the army out to fight the Israelis and hoping that they kill one another off. That's a win-win from the MB point of view.

This is a first-rate foreign policy disaster on a par with Carter and Iran. Meanwhile Hillary is still driving the State Department clown car around the tent beeping her own horn incessantly and 0bama is threatening to dislocate his shoulder patting himself on the back for the ludicrously termed Arab Spring. U.S. interests lost in Libya, Egypt, and now look to make it a trifecta in Syria. If there is a worse way to screw up U.S. foreign policy I don't know it, but I have faith they'll find it.

I wonder about some of the things you wrote. Not as a matter of contesting them, but in terms of thinking through them. This with the only sure knowledge being that it is impossible to predict what will occur in that part of the world EXCEPT: that it is like a pinball machine, a tilted table, where all roads ultimately lead to the ball falling thru the flippers, which in this (and all other) cases means an Islamist government.

It’s indeed the Egyptian Army on the border, AFAIK. It seems to me that the best way for the nascent (not really) MB regime in Egypt to demonstrate its power is to stage a war with Israel. This would be entirely typical for moron despots. On the surface, the force involved would be the Egyptian army but it also seems like a strong possibility that “genuine” Egyptians would rather not go to war. Thus, as you posit, perhaps the force that would go to war would be a hollowed out army, with Al Queda and/or Hezbolleh-figureheads in command. Such a force is not used to operating as a normal army and perhaps Israel would take the time to terminate them with extreme prejudice, which is what I would do in their place. There will be loads of Palestinians taking up arms as well.

I can tell you that should Egypt start something, there would be little mercy coming from the Israeli side. Israel has to watch out for a pan-Arab attack IMHO.

I don’t know if you see things unfurling along those lines. I *do* think Israel could find itself once again under assault from multiple directions, on multiple fronts.

LOL! I knew I’d regret posting those words. Yeah, that’s one way it could be worse. Attacking the Kurds on behalf of the Turks would be another. Fronting for the Saudies in a Syrian occupation would be another. I can think of more but I don’t dare type them here because some administration drone might think it’d be a good idea...

Israel’s probably getting her dam buster nuke dusted off and primed. Question is, what are we going to do when the Brotherhood destroys or blocks the Suez? Got a lot of stuff over there on the other side, not to mention the West’s need for OIL.

I agree completely. The Israelis could very easily find themselves dependent on the good will or rivalry (or both) of Russia, Iran, and the Moslem Brotherhood, respectively, to prevent a war. That is not a hand I'd care to draw to.

The hudna is over. The sinai build up is beginning again. The Russian satellites are watching again and after Syria, and maybe damascus is fallen( Isa 17:1) and our country succumb to islum and athiesm( Psalm 14:1, maybe Ezekial 38 and 39 will begine as prophesied. Daily ist gets closer. Daily the papers and the one world MSM lies to us, daily the UN spreads lies and makes our puppet rezident more a mouse than a leader, daily we must pray for when homosexuality reigns in any great nation a fall comes quickly.

But Israel, O' Israel, Jerusalem O' Jerusalem how the messiah weeps and waits for you to cry out HIS name; please humble thyself and cleanse thyself quickly now for there will be very little time left.

Call me crazy but it football they seem to call this "crunch time." Moral fortitude, the hour before the barrage.

Forgive me, for I'm getting sleepy and waxing mystical in scriptures, burying my face in prayers and hoping for an angels, like an angel that wiped out 175,000 Assyrians, an Angel the very Captain of the Lord's army ordering Y'shua to take off his sandals for he is standing upon hallowed ground, is it time yet to destroy the remainder of Jericho?

Sorry, missed this part. Why would Jesus have to take off his sandals? I thought that was Moses part?

Thanks

...what are we going to do when the Brotherhood destroys or blocks the Suez?

I have said that from the beginning. The easiest way for the gooners in Egypt to solidify their power will be to take over the canal. I am sure there is plenty of laws and treaties on the books against it, so...does anyone (friendly) have a continency plan to secure the canal? I don't know...but what I do know is if an when it happens, it will be game on. The all out war the liberals have been wishing for!

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has a couple of problems. The states military is split between secular and Islamic. They just sacked the top positions controlling that military. Their main concern now is too avoid a civil war and to unify the military. War with Israel will solve those two big problems.
