London brought the curtain down on a hugely entertaining Olympics with a sensational rock 'n roll nostalgia tour of a closing ceremony
It all came with a price tag of $14 billion - three times the original estimate. But nobody wanted to spoil the fun with such mundane concerns, at least not on this night.

Romney was right
Wonder how much the Rock & Roll stars were paid?
NHS cuts back and the Olympics spends over nine billion then estimated! Wonder how many sick people could be healed with nine billion!
The worst travesty is how many tens of billions will Brazil spend hosting the World Cup and the Olympics when many of its citizens have no access to running potable water.
I am so fed up with this rock and roll crap invading football game half-time shows and the Olympics. What in the hell do the two have in common?
I can't wait for the day that a rock-and-roll concert has a football game played at half-time.
I can't see how any conceivable increase in tourism could even come close to making that up.
and our local idiots want to bring them to colorado.
Romney was wrong, wrong, wrong.
The Games themselves were great, the security was spot on, the British and Britain proved in spades that it could host the greatest show on earth. And then some.
Romney questioned the security, the organisation and the will of the British people. On ALL THREE, he was WRONG. So wrong, he was off the chart. Britain and the British people proved he should have kept his big mouth shut.
p.s make up your minds, I thought you all hated the NHS.
