The Democrats hated Nixon because he exposed Alger Hiss as a Communist and a Traitor. Democrats hounded and demonized Nixon for the rest of his life for that. To Democrats, Hiss was the saint, just like Obama is the messiah. Democrats and Communists, but I repeat myself.

BINGO!

Nixon made mistakes, sure. He actually was a decent man and decent President. People forget he got us out of Vietnam, where Kennedy and Johnson got us into it. I remember in my youth arguing with my mother-in-law about Nixon... back then I was stupid. Before she passed away I told her she was right about Nixon and I was totally wrong.

Nixon had his pluses and minuses. His big plusses were in the area of foreign affairs and identifying domestic subversives. The negatives which should not be overlooked were his pension to use government agencies like the IRS against his enemies and taking off the books political donations. Of course, no one died as a result of his minuses, not like the traitor we have in the white hut now who has taken those techiques cited as minuses to a exponential level beyond.

Nixon did end the war in Vietnam after being hamstrung by the same party that got us there...frankly, had he be given his freedom to do what was necessary to win, we would have and a few million both in Cambodia and S. Vietnam would not have been assassinated.

All IMO of course
