My “republican” governor is using some $38 million in state funds plus matching federal funds to buy up rural property around the state for “preservation”. Its already rural so as far as I can tell they’re preserving it from being in private hands. The crazy thing is that the land is being bought well above market rates.

$3 million for 2000 acres just outside of town here and at least half of that is swamp. Another $2.275 for 54 acres from Domino’s farms (As in Domino’s pizza)

And who owned the land being bought? Guv’s brother-in-law, wife’s cousin, partner in his old law firm?

Are you sure that is the State instead of Washtenaw County as they are trying to create a “ring” city?
