I can remember Camden as a nice place back in the mid 1960s. Big,spacious row homes,mom & pop corner stores,the local butcher and his home made Kielbasi. At Christmas we went from porch to porch and sang carols and ate tons of baked goodies. By 1970 all that was gone and the city was already a sh!thole. My cousins ran to school,and ran home from school chased by the black kids. All my relatives got the hell out by 1970. If they really disband the local cops Camden will be “Escape From New York.”

Ditto that. I was there for a couple of months (in a Camden boatyard) in, oh, I think 1971. I can't anything about the good Camden of the 60's, but by '71 it was a depressing wasteland.
