Russians are noted for being blunt, but Germans are so blunt they will usually offend people. Americans are noted for pitching in to whatever work needs to be done. When I was in Russia, many Russians noted that this was one of Americans’ most endearing traits. We don’t care about divisions of labor or recompense, if we see it needs done, we do it. Apparantly that’s a rare thing elsewhere in the world.
