Thanks for the nice long rant!

Since I didn't say anything about postal employees, I will assume you meant your post for “All”.

Here is my reply: BTW, if I had said anything about postal employees, it would have been a comment regarding the increased level of errors and rudeness exhibited by USPS employees I have encountered over the last ten years, at multiple addresses, both business and personal.

Although you may find this impossible to believe, lots of people, myself included, truly detest junk mail.

I have been told by indignant postal employees I have no way to “opt out” of receiving any of it.
That being the case, the USPS should be the entity forced to cart it to the trash, not me!

First class mail within my city is now delivered in 4-5 business days, not the previous 1-2 days.
Due to the rising rate of mis-delivered 1st class mail I receive at home, and the growing incidents of customers claiming they mailed orders to me at work that were never received, I no longer consider the USPS reliable.

Junk mail gets priority service.

So don't act surprised when even more businesses turn to fax or email for routine business transactions that were previously conducted at the constantly increasing 1st class mail rates.

Pat yourself on the back all you want for what you consider to be a job well done.

I do understand that many in the upper echelons of leaders at the USPS have been desperately trying to adapt and adjust to a changing marketplace, and are stymied by both external government regulations and internal employee union objections.
I wish them well, and hope the next administration will help save the USPS.

Hi sarasmom,

apologies if I patted myself overmuch on the back, for running on and for not addressing the post to “All”.
I share your frustration with bad attitudes and poor service, I’m a customer too.

There is a way to cut back on unwanted mail, the link below and others like it may help a bit:

Happy Freeping.
