I remember when George Harrison’s song “Taxman” came out, and Harrison was quoted as saying he knew he had to pay high taxes, but 95% was totally ridiculous. He was then savaged in the rock press by the morons who said he was being greedy for not wanting to pay 95%. That’s the way these people look at things. I would bet most bleeding-heart, uber-rich lib celebs put their money tax shelters or overseas accounts as soon as humanly possible.

Most folks don't realize that the line in the song "that's one for you, nineteen for me", was actually the reality of their tax rate.

Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman

If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I’ll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet.

Don’t ask me what I want it for
If you don’t want to pay some more
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

George Harrison
