I think you hit the nail on the head. Obama's internal polling must show him in a perilous position, hence the throwing caution to the wind and letting fly. It doesn't matter if it's the truth or not, as long as he and his folks can keep Americans from thinking about the economy.
I said this on a few other threads and I'll say it again: I have no proof or scientific evidence, but I believe what we saw last week at Chick-fil-A is what we're going to see on election day. There is a huge, simmering anger in this country.
